What DELE C1 asks of you, officially
To pass the oral, your speaking has to reach band 2 of the Instituto Cervantes scale, which the body defines as the C1 description of the Common European Framework. At that band, the DELE C1 scale says:
Proporciona la información más importante del texto (ver ficha), responde adecuadamente al examinador y generalmente expone su opinión y sus argumentos con precisión. Su discurso es claro, estructurado y fluido, aunque presenta alguna vacilación. Tiene un repertorio lingüístico que le permite elegir los elementos adecuados para formular con claridad lo que quiere decir y muestra un alto grado de corrección, aunque comete algún error esporádico. Su pronunciación es clara. Interactúa eficazmente y contribuye al progreso de la negociación dialogando con su interlocutor de manera adecuada. Utiliza para ello elementos lingüísticos, claves no verbales y de entonación.

Tarea 1
A text to present on for three to five minutes: summarize its main points, evaluate it (clarity, the author's intent, the strength of the arguments), and give your opinion on the topic. You may consult notes, but not just read them out.
Give the presentation aloud to the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the five minutes allowed.
Usted debe realizar una exposición oral sobre el texto adjunto. En su exposición debe: resumir los puntos principales del texto; valorar el texto (claridad, intención del autor, solidez de los argumentos, etc.); opinar sobre el tema. Dispone de entre tres y cinco minutos. Puede consultar sus notas, pero la presentación no puede limitarse a la lectura de las mismas.
Tarea 2
An interview in which the interviewer questions you about the topic of the Tarea 1 (first speaking task) text, lasting four to six minutes.
Answer the interview aloud with the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the six minutes allowed.
Debe responder a una entrevista con el entrevistador sobre el tema del texto de la Tarea 1. Dispone de entre cuatro y seis minutos para realizar la tarea.
Tarea 3
A negotiation with the interviewer to reach an agreement on a concrete question, lasting four to six minutes.
Negotiate aloud with the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the six minutes allowed.
Debe llevar a cabo una negociación con el entrevistador para llegar a un acuerdo sobre una cuestión concreta. Dispone de entre cuatro y seis minutos para realizar esta tarea.
How it is marked
The oral is marked on the Instituto Cervantes scale of 0 to 3, on the criteria below, with the weights the DELE C1 guide sets. Band 2 is the pass band at DELE C1. This is the same scheme the oral grader on this site uses, not a summary of it.
Criteria
- Fluidez (fluency) · 13.2% of the oral mark
- Corrección (accuracy) · 13.2% of the oral mark
- Alcance (range) · 13.2% of the oral mark
- Mediación y Cumplimiento de la T1 (mediation and task fulfilment) · 20.4% of the oral mark
- Escala holística (the holistic scale, one overall judgment) · 40% of the oral mark
Bands
- Band 1
- The level is not reached (No apto).
- Band 2
- Equivalent to the description of the level in the Common European Framework (Apto).
- Band 3
- The level is reached comfortably.
The oral counts toward Grupo 2 (Comprensión auditiva + Expresión e interacción orales), which needs 30 points from its sections together. It is passed or failed as a group, never on the total.
