Compared with HSK 4, the prescribed vocabulary rises by 1,755 words to 5,000, the CEFR band moves from B1 to B2. On the paper itself, sentence ordering appears for the first time, fill the blanks from a word list, sentence gap-fill and write a sentence drop out, the writing minimum rises from 300 characters to 450.

What HSK 5 asks of you
A full HSK 5 paper, rebuilt to the official HSK 3.0 blueprint: same sections, same order, same clock. Sections run one way, so once you submit one you are done with it.
- Reading pace
- 35 questions in 35 minutes for 100 of the 300 points. That is about 60 seconds a question.
- Listening
- 35 questions in 25 minutes for 100 of the 300 points, and each clip plays once and never rewinds.
- Writing load
- 2 tasks in 40 minutes. The standard expects no less than 450 Chinese characters, in a limited time. Genres: common narratives, expositions and argumentations, plus practical writing formats.
- Vocabulary it draws on
- 5,000 words, the list HSK 3.0 sets for HSK 5. Every question is written inside it. CEFR B2.

How you are scored
200 of the 300 points are marked the moment you finish, for free. The other 100 sit on 2 of the 72 questions: Short composition ×2 for 100 points. Those have to be read rather than matched against a key.
Marking that open work is what a plan pays for, on every paper. Your first one is free with a confirmed email, and a paper is graded once, so its marks are final.

The separate HSK 3.0 oral test · 5 items · ~23 min
- 听后复述: retell 2 passages you hear (1.5 min each)
- 看图说话: describe a 3-panel picture story (2 min)
- 回答问题: answer 2 open questions (2.5 min each)
Each turn is recorded once, timed like the real oral test, and AI-graded on holistic 高 / 中 / 低 bands. Typing works as a fallback. Part of the With Speaking plan.
