HSK 2 mock exam
Basic everyday communication on familiar topics, with simple spoken exchanges and short written sentences.

Compared with HSK 1, the prescribed vocabulary rises by 200 words to 500, the CEFR band moves from A1 to A2, a writing section is added. On the paper itself, choose the character and write the character appear for the first time.

What HSK 2 asks of you
A full HSK 2 paper, rebuilt to the official HSK 3.0 blueprint: same sections, same order, same clock. Sections run one way, so once you submit one you are done with it.
- Reading pace
- 25 questions in 25 minutes for 100 of the 200 points. That is about 60 seconds a question.
- Listening
- 25 questions in 17 minutes for 100 of the 200 points, and each clip plays twice and never rewinds.
- Writing load
- 10 tasks in 10 minutes. The standard expects no less than 100 Chinese characters, in a limited time. Genres: introducing basic information closely related to your own life and study.
- Vocabulary it draws on
- 500 words, the list HSK 3.0 sets for HSK 2. Every question is written inside it. CEFR A2.

- Items 36-45Sentence matching (句子匹配) · 10 itemsShort printed lines matched to their replies from one shared set of six.
- Items 46-50Multiple choice · 5 itemsA short printed passage, then a question about it with three answers.
- Items 51-55Choose the character (书写) · 5 itemsSentences with a pinyin gap, filled with the right character from a shared set.
- Items 56-60Write the character (看拼音写汉字) · 5 itemsA short sentence with a pinyin gap, where you type the character yourself.

How you are scored
All 60 questions have a definite answer, so the whole paper is marked the moment you finish and all 200 points are free.
A plan adds content at this level rather than marking: a fresh paper on each attempt, drawn so questions you have already seen do not come back.
Your result comes back as a band against the 120 / 200 to pass line.
