Compared with HSK 3, the prescribed vocabulary more than doubles, from 1,000 words to 3,245, the CEFR band moves from A2 to B1. On the paper itself, sentence gap-fill and short composition appear for the first time, picture matching, sentence matching and write the character drop out, the writing minimum rises from 200 characters to 300.

What HSK 4 asks of you
A full HSK 4 paper, rebuilt to the official HSK 3.0 blueprint: same sections, same order, same clock. Sections run one way, so once you submit one you are done with it.
- Reading pace
- 32 questions in 30 minutes for 100 of the 300 points. That is about 56 seconds a question.
- Listening
- 32 questions in 20 minutes for 100 of the 300 points, and each clip plays once and never rewinds.
- Writing load
- 6 tasks in 25 minutes. The standard expects no less than 300 Chinese characters, in a limited time. Genres: simple narratives and expositions, plus common practical writing formats.
- Vocabulary it draws on
- 3,245 words, the list HSK 3.0 sets for HSK 4. Every question is written inside it. CEFR B1.
What is inside

How you are scored
200 of the 300 points are marked the moment you finish, for free. The other 100 sit on 6 of the 70 questions: Write a sentence ×5 for 40 points and Short composition ×1 for 60 points. Those have to be read rather than matched against a key.
Marking that open work is what a plan pays for, on every paper. Your first one is free with a confirmed email, and a paper is graded once, so its marks are final.
Your result comes back as a band against the 180 / 300 to pass line.

Each turn is recorded once, timed like the real oral test, and AI-graded on holistic 高 / 中 / 低 bands. Typing works as a fallback. Part of the With Speaking plan.
