Learning Italian verb conjugation

Italian verbs change for six persons, from io to loro, and fall into three groups by their infinitive: -are, -ere and -ire. Regular verbs follow their group's pattern, as in parlare, credere and dormire, and many -ire verbs add -isc- in the present, as in capisco. The everyday verbs, such as essere, avere, fare and andare, are irregular and worth drilling on their own. The passato prossimo needs an auxiliary, avere or essere, and with essere the past participle agrees with the subject: sono andato or sono andata.

The Italian verb conjugation worksheet generator lets you take those one at a time. Start with the present tense of regular verbs, add the passato prossimo with avere and then with essere, and filter for irregular past participles or reflexive verbs when your class reaches them. The fill-in boxes and the quick quiz come with an answer key on separate pages. To look up one verb, the Italian verb conjugation tables give every form of each verb on a page of its own: andare, vado, andai, andato, with essere.
