What DELE C2 asks of you, officially
To pass the oral, your speaking has to reach band 2 of the Instituto Cervantes scale, which the body defines as the C2 description of the Common European Framework. At that band, the DELE C2 scale says:
Realiza una exposición que sigue los puntos propuestos con información adecuada de todas las fuentes, aunque con cierta dependencia de los originales, y responde eficazmente al examinador. Su discurso es fluido, claro y está bien estructurado. Tiene un repertorio variado de elementos lingüísticos que le permite expresarse con precisión y matices de significado. Muestra un alto grado de corrección y su pronunciación es clara. Interactúa eficazmente, tomando la iniciativa, negociando con facilidad y destreza y conectando sus intervenciones con las del interlocutor. Utiliza para ello elementos lingüísticos, claves no verbales y de entonación.

Tarea 1
Two texts and a chart to base an oral presentation on, lasting five to six minutes: set out the main ideas of the sources, contrast their points of view, and give your own assessment. You may consult notes, but not just read them out.
Give the presentation aloud to the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the six minutes allowed.
Usted debe preparar una presentación oral a partir de los dos textos y el gráfico que se le ofrecen. En su exposición deberá: exponer las ideas principales de las fuentes; contrastar los puntos de vista; aportar su propia valoración. Dispone de entre cinco y seis minutos. Puede consultar sus notas, pero la presentación no puede limitarse a la lectura de las mismas.
Tarea 2
A conversation with the interviewer about your presentation and the topic it dealt with, lasting five to six minutes.
Hold the conversation aloud with the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the six minutes allowed.
Debe mantener una conversación con el entrevistador sobre su exposición y el tema tratado. Dispone de entre cinco y seis minutos para realizar la tarea.
Tarea 3
Two news stories selected for a debate you are preparing with the interviewer. You agree on one using the stated criteria (about 2 minutes), then discuss it, exchanging opinions, arguments and examples (about 4 minutes).
Reach the agreement and hold the discussion aloud with the AI interviewer in the oral room, within the six minutes allowed.
El entrevistador o la entrevistadora y usted están preparando un debate. Tienen seleccionadas dos noticias y deben discutir sobre cuál de ellas van a proponer. Lleguen a un acuerdo según los criterios indicados (aproximadamente 2 minutos) y, después, discutan la noticia seleccionada: intercambien opiniones, argumentos, ejemplos, etc. (aproximadamente 4 minutos). Duración de la tarea: 5-6 minutos.
How it is marked
The oral is marked on the Instituto Cervantes scale of 0 to 3, on the criteria below, with the weights the DELE C2 guide sets. Band 2 is the pass band at DELE C2. This is the same scheme the oral grader on this site uses, not a summary of it.

- Corrección (accuracy) · 13.2% of the oral mark
- Alcance (range) · 13.2% of the oral mark
- Mediación y Cumplimiento de la T1 (mediation and task fulfilment) · 20.4% of the oral mark
- Escala holística (the holistic scale, one overall judgment) · 40% of the oral mark
Bands
- Band 1
- The level is not reached (No apto).
- Band 2
- Equivalent to the description of the level in the Common European Framework (Apto).
- Band 3
- The level is reached comfortably.
The oral counts toward Prueba 3 (Expresión, mediación e interacción orales), which needs 20 points from its sections together. It is passed or failed as a group, never on the total.
